CSN to Air Cubs, White Sox Year in Review Specials
Comcast SportsNet will give its viewers a special gift this holiday season with the presentation of a pair of one-hour, 2008 year-in-review specials for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs, chronicling each team's journey throughout the year. Note the following details and air dates:
"Comcast SportsNet Rewind: 2008 Chicago White Sox" (debuts December 24 at 7:00 PM)
Hosted by SportsNite's Chuck Garfien and Josh Mora, this one-hour program will review the 2008 White Sox season starting with spring training in Tucson, through the team's amazing late season determination to win the AL Central Division, their one-game wildcard playoff battle vs. Minnesota in the U.S. Cellular Field "Black Out" game, and their playoff defeat against Tampa Bay in the ALDS. Among the highlights include recaps of the '08 Sox debuts of Gavin Floyd, John Danks, Carlos Quentin and Alexei Ramirez, the surprise mid-season addition of Ken Griffey, Jr., plus, exclusive coverage of Jim Thome bringing his 500th career home run ball to Cooperstown and much more. The program will also preview what's ahead for the 2009 White Sox.
"Comcast SportsNet Rewind: 2008 Chicago Cubs" (debuts December 25 at 7:00 PM)
Hosted by SportsNite's Luke Stuckmeyer and CSN Cubs analyst Dan Plesac, this one-hour show looks back at the 2008 Cubs season from Ryan Dempster's spring training prediction that the Cubs would win the World Series, to their dominating 97-win regular season, to being swept in the NLDS against the LA Dodgers. Among the numerous highlights/discussions in the special include the MLB debut of Japanese phenom Kosuke Fukudome, in which he hit a game-tying home run on opening day, their record come-from-behind win against Colorado, along with Carlos Zambrano's first-ever no-hitter. CSN will also re-live the NL Central clinching game and post-game celebration, plus a preview of the 2009 season.
NOTE: Comcast SportsNet will replay the Cubs and White Sox year-in-review specials back-to-back on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1 (Cubs at 8:00 PM and White Sox at 9:00 PM).
