Tribune Company Partners With TicketNetwork Direct to Make Live Event Tickets Available Online
Newspaper, Television and Radio Web Site Visitors Nationwide Get Access to Tickets in Real Time
VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - January 7, 2009) - TicketNetwork, the leading source for live event tickets and innovative technology solutions, today announced that its partnership division, TicketNetwork Direct, has signed an agreement with Tribune Company to supply ticket inventory and content to the company's newspaper, television and radio web sites.
TicketNetwork Direct's alliance with Tribune will provide over $1 billion in ticket inventory and makes TicketNetwork Direct a provider of tickets to the media giant's Web entities across the country. The agreement includes the web sites of Tribune's eight newspapers, 23 television stations, and WGN Radio.
"Numerous Tribune properties, including the websites of television and radio stations in the top ten Nielsen markets in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas, will now offer an extensive supply of tickets to local live events," said Don Vaccaro, CEO, TicketNetwork. "Concerts, sporting events and shows are often sold out in large cities due to high demand, and this partnership will fill that void with TicketNetwork providing ticket buyers with quality seats to live entertainment coast to coast," added Vaccaro.
"Working with TicketNetwork Direct, we're able to provide our readers, viewers and listeners with a valuable service -- tickets to in-demand live events, made available in real time," said Jonathan Ozeran, Manager, Product Innovation at Tribune Interactive. "Our newspaper and broadcast web sites have well-established identities within their local markets and are recognized as the go-to source for local news, information and entertainment. Providing this service gives consumers yet another reason to visit our sites." Ozeran added, "TicketNetwork's leadership position and expansive ticket inventory were critical to selecting them as a partner."
