Today kicks off the annual Chicago Cubs Convention at the Hilton Chicago and WGN Radio is planning on being all over this event!
If you are going to the convention, you will have PLENTY of opportunities to meet with a WGN personality, as they will be a huge part of the show itself. Here is a tentative schedule of who, what, where & when for WGN-AM this weekend:
- Today (Friday): Steve Cochran will be broadcasting his show live from the Hilton's Boulevard Room from 3:00pm-7:00pm. If you can leave Steve's show a little early, head over to the Continental Ballroom. Starting at 6:00pm, Dave Kaplan will be recording a special live 2 hour Sports Central show, with many guests including Lou Piniella, Jim Hendry, and the Cubs TV & radio broadcast teams. The show will not air live, due to the Blackhawks game, but will air on WGN on Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm.
- Then there are 4 big live shows lined up for Saturday in the Continental Ballroom:
From 9:00am-10:00am, John Williams and Dave Eanet will have "Meet Cubs Management," with
Lou Piniella, Jim Hendry, Randy Bush and Crane Kenney.
From 10:30am-11:30am, Kathy & Judy will have "Not for Women Only," with Ryan Theriot, Jeff Samardzija, Sean Marshall, Reed Johnson and Aaron Miles
From Noon-1:00pm, Nick Digilio and Cory Provus come on stage with their "Game Day Experience" show with Mike Fontenot, Joey Gathright, Kevin Hart, Koyie Hill and Ted Lilly
Lastly, from 1:30pm-2:30pm, Steve Cochran comes back with "The Clubhouse Entertainers," with Ryan Dempster, Lee Smith, Ron Santo and Randy Hundley.
The Saturday shows will be recorded for broadcasting at a later date and will be podcasted on the WGN-AM website.
