David Kaplan & Dan McNeil hosting a show together? Don't hold your breath on that one...Ever since Tom Waddle signed on over about 2 years ago at ESPN Radio 1000, Kaplan has hosted "Sports Central" on Newstalk 720 WGN solo weeknights 7-9p, and I don't think that's about to change. Where Mac will resurface is another story. It's NOT a sure thing that Mac will be headed back to 670 "The SCORE" come May. Even though WSCR is under different management these days, this is the same management team that parted company with Mike North & Fred Huebner, plus was absolutely stubborn in giving middays to Laurence Holmes without giving other "SCORE" guys a chance to legitimately win the job after "Mully & Hanley" took over mornings. Given this terrible economy, Mac might be off the air for a lot longer than he would like. If I'm Mac, I would consider borrowing a page from another former teammate of Danny's. Kevin Matthews once said the future of radio is on the Internet, and given the radio landscape, it may be a smart idea to broadcast exclusively online.
