Probably not known by many but I wanted to pay tribute to an old U of I friend:

Suburban St. Louis Sportscaster Joe May Dies
Condolences to family and friends of former longtime WIBV-A/BELLEVILLE, IL-ST. LOUIS Sports Director JOE MAY, who died of a heart attack SATURDAY in BELLEVILLE at 67.

MAY called local high school and college sports, including SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY and UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS games, for several years at WIBV. He started at WHCO-A/SPARTA, IL before joining WIBV in 1969. In recent years, MAY called high school games over the Internet.
