Credit Abbie Boudreau, a 29-year-old reporter who grew up in southwest suburban Bourbonnais, with scoring the biggest coup of the weekend for CNN.
Boudreau and her new special investigations unit producer, Scott Zamost, landed the only interview Sunday with Jessica Baty, the girlfriend of Northern Illinois University gunman Steve Kazmierczak. It led national newscasts and made front-page headlines Monday.
Before recently joining CNN, Boudreau worked at KNXV-TV in Phoenix, and Zamost worked at WTVJ-TV in Miami. Both are graduates of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
