Talked to a Trib employee today who was laughing about what a control freak R. Michaels is (despite Zell telling everyone that businesses would be responsible for their own decisions).
But the real joke was the "Chief Innovation Officer" - can't remember his name - but he's another old Michaels croney. This guy is a 50+ year-old radio retread, who implores the troops to think 'cutting edge.' Which is fine, except when he uses, as an example, Pink Floyd...!
Lee Abrams - that's his name. He also likes to talk about how they should do things more like he did when he was at XM...yes, the same XM that is even further in the crapper than the Trib.
Reading his Monday Morning Marketing Blog is apparently 10 minutes you'll never get back.
The conversation made me laugh and want to tear my hair out at the same time.
