This is a huge loss. I had a strange connection with Ed, beyond just listening to him on the radio. My old boss at Syndication Networks, Chris Witting, was one of his producers and has tons of great stories about him. He used to call Chris, "Mister Christian", and went on and on about how much fun it was.
In later years, I used to talk to him at the nursing home he used to be at in Des Plaines. Both he and my aunt were at the same place, and I always sought him out. He always took the time to talk to me, and joked about the fact that he still hated syndicated radio, even though I was working for a syndicator. I can remember his rants about Larry King when they were competitors too. That was some funny stuff to hear him on a rant.
I can't describe how much he'll be missed.
