Warner was wrong...I want to be really clear about this...but guess what, there are people that agree with what he did and don't see a problem with it. And therein lies the problem. I think the better route to go is to not engage in or tolerate racism in ANY form. It's too hurtful (as we see) to try and cherry-pick, when it's acceptable, and when it's not; when it's only for entertainment purposes or when it's meant to make a point (vailid or not).

Perhaps I'm being a bit too optimistic, but I know this for sure, these kinds of things will never go away as long as excuses are made whenever it happens.

As a side note here, perhaps another reason that Feder didn't bother to fight this out in the media, or try and rally up the troops to have Warner Saunders ousted, is because he's a big boy. Over the years, he printed many letters from readers accusing him of being a racist. He didn't have to print them, but he did because he was secure in the fact that his criticisms, whether they were valid or not, were not based on race. I have known Robert for a few years....he's no weeping willow, and probably appreciates the irony in Saunders effort to embarrass him publicly, has only resulted in Saunders making a public spectacle of himself.
