I agree, Fan, I worked with him and he was a classy guy. The Tribune obituary said that at the time of his death he was a senior clerk in the mail processing department of Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Co.
: Sorry to hear. After 'BBM switched, he went to then WLAK (now WLIT), WCLR and finished up at WLOO/WXEZ. On-air, he was extremely consistent and professional. I do recall hearing that he had a fairly rough time of it off-air. Sad.
: : If you're old enough to remember WBBM-FM before it was B96, you'll remember Tony Philips. He was the program director and DJ with a smooth friendly delivery and had worked at a few other stations here after the format switchover.
