Outgoing KLSX PD Jack Silver Looks Back And Forward
In 1997 JACK SILVER took over the programming at CBS Talker KLSX/LOS ANGELES, and ALL ACCESS wanted to give him, like his outgoing staff who are getting to say their goodbyes on FRIDAY (2/20) before the format flip to Top 40 "97.1 AMP RADIO," (NET NEWS 2/18), a chance for some last words, too.
By any yardstick, KLSX has been a success seeing tremendous growth in its target demo of Men 25-54 over the last several months. KLSX is as high as No. 2 overall and No. 1 English-language in some key dayparts in recent PPM weeks.
SILVER told ALL ACCESS, "This has been an amazing run and I'm proud of our accomplishments. We leave this format having successfully figured out PPM and having 26 million minutes of weekly streaming, only #2 to WFAN-A/NEW YORK, plus millions of podcast downloads each month from ADAM CAROLLA. Ratings-wise ADAM was Top 5 with men in all demos, and FROSTY, HEIDI, and FRANK, plus TOM LEYKIS were all #1 with men in their respective dayparts -- so someone in L.A. has gotta want a taste of this."
SILVER plans to use the time to reinvigorate his talent development company, MORNING SHOWS INC. And after FRIDAY, JACK can be reached at JackESilver at aol.com.
