A couple of my own observations. First, it's been just over a year since CBS2 lost Randy Salerno in that tragic snowmobile accident in Wisconsin. They've had a lot of trouble even before the Salerno tragedy in regards to generating viewers for all their newscasts. Besides, you would think that CBS2 would have a very strong lead-in from the network's top-rated prime time lineup at 10p, but there's something that viewers simply don't like when they hit the air. These days, you can't tell the anchors without a scorecard either, even before they moved to new HD-quality digs at Washington & Dearborn last fall. As for Robin Meade, I've been a fan of hers for quite sometime, even before TimeWarner renamed Headline News as HLN. Robin does a really good job weekday mornings on HLN's "Morning Express", and it's more than just her wardrobe that's attractive. She has personality & appeal, in addition to telling us all the news that happened while we were asleep. Also, this is the newscast where you can also find Rafer Weigel, son of the late, great Tim Weigel providing sports & making his father proud.
