It will be the end of an era at WMAQ-Channel 5 now that Diana Borri is retiring after four decades as a valued and versatile manager. She's also been the NBC-owned station's unofficial historian and guardian of its illustrious past.
Since joining Channel 5 as a student worker in 1969, Borri has headed broadcast standards, programming, regulatory affairs, communications and new media. She most recently was broadcast operations chief and environmental health and safety officer.
Borri also was the first woman to serve as president of the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She continues as a national trustee of NATAS.
