Chicago Legend Richard Pegue Passed
RICHARD PEGUE, a CHICAGO radio legend died today. PEGUE had been a programmer, air personality, consultant and production specialist for more than 30 years.
He spent nearly all of his career in his native CHICAGO. He worked for several CHICAGO stations including WVON, WJPC, WGCI, WOPA and most recently, WKKC. RICHARD was probably best known for his "dusties," which is a CHICAGO term for oldies. Up until his passing, PEGUE was still onthe air with "The Best Music Of Your Life" from midnight to 6a on WKKC.
PEGUE had a history of heart issues. He suffered a stroke in 1996 and had a pacemaker installed. Preliminary reports indicate the cause of death was heart failure. RICHARD PEGUE was 64. Funeral arrangements are pending.
