Darian Trotter to leave WFLD-TV

WFLD-Ch. 32 is not renewing reporter Darian Trotter's contract, which runs out at the end of the month, the Fox-owned station confirmed Wednesday.

Hired two years ago to help WFLD launch its 10 p.m. newscast two years ago, Trotter came to Chicago from Nashville NBC outlet WSMV-TV, where he had worked for then-Channel 32 news boss Andrew Finlayson and then-assistant news director Ellen Miller.

Carol Fowler earlier this year succeeded Finlayson as WFLD's vice president and news director, with Finlayson exiting the station to become director of online content and business development for the Fox Television Stations group. Miller left the station in mid-2008.
