Ira Glass and Chicago Public Radio's "This American Life" are returning to the silver screen for one night only. On Thursday April 23rd, over 400 select movie theaters and performing arts centers nationwide will air "This American Life - Live!", a special live simulcast performance of the acclaimed radio show. Over 30 theater screens in the Chicago area, from southern WI to northwestern IN, will be showing the event, which will be shown from 7pm-9pm Chicago time.
Joining Ira Glass for this special show will be popular contributors Dan Savage, Starlee Kine, Mike Birbiglia, David Rakoff and Dave Hill. Joss Whedon, the TV show creator ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Dollhouse") and comic book writer ("Astonishing X-Men") will try his hand at a musical number. There will be a cartoon by Chris Ware, additional visuals by Arthur Jones. To see which local theaters this will be playing at and to purchase tickets:
