Since its debut (NET NEWS 3/11), CBS Top 40 WXRK (92.3 NOW FM)/NEW YORK has been engaging in some in-your-face promos, taking shots at crosstown Top 40 giant WHTZ (Z100) and morning man ELVIS DURAN.
Today's promo: "Today is FRIDAY the 13th .... a VERY BAD DAY ... for Z100 ... find out WHY, at 3p" and the "WHY" has been answered.
As first hinted on ALL ACCESS, at 3p (ET), TICTAK AND THE FREAK SHOW debuted. TICTAK, who worked for CBS RADIO VP/Top 40 Radio DOM THEODORE at CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WKQI/DETROIT and acrosstown at CITADEL then-Top 40 WDRQ, was unleashed from his cage and will do 3-7p on 92.3 NOW FM. Judging from his first set, which he did with middayer LISA PAIGE, TICTAK is unmuzzled and off his meds. He talked up LADY GAGA/Poker Face ... "Dedicating this to TOM POLEMAN ... please resign."
