First off I have never been a B96 fan, but E & J were Chicago radio icons, a style that made Chicago talk radio unique unfortunately like Steve Dahl they were swept up in the plague of death of talk radio. Like Dahl they got contracts that pay them well over the current market rate, so they just sit back and watch the checks come in the mail until their contract ends. I think Dahl even has a count down on his website for when his contract ends. If someone does hire him, he probably won't get a third of what he is getting now. I still believe there is a market for a talk radio format that has a younger vibe than wgn, and a boat load of available talent is sitting around doing nothing, its just that the talent has to come to grips with the fact that million dollar contracts are a thing of the past.

: I have been meaning to ask this question for awhile...I am sure that everyone knew once E and J were fired from mornings for a second time that they wouldn't be back for a third...Instead of being classless for lack of a better word and letting them know after their last show that their services were no longer needed, why were they not allowed the opportunity to say goodbye like Steve Dahl was...were they offered that opportunity and declined it? If so, why would they turn down an opportunity to say goodbye to fans who some have listened since they started on mornings?
