What Mike North is doing (along with some partners) is provide a forum for himself and a variety of other hosts. The truth be told, if a Eddie and Jobo, Steve Dahl or anyone else really wanted to, they could setup a live stream on their respected websites and broadcast for an hour, two hours, or however much they want a day. It's not terrestrial radio, but for people who work at an office or can sit behind a computer during the day, it might be a viable option.
It's one thing to get advertisers at the start of a project (like North has done), but getting them to stay after a while is the key. Could Dahl and anyone else do the same on their own websites. Sure, they can try, but the same question would hold key. Could they retain advertisers in the long run?
Any online venture will be hard to do until cars are equipped to receive Internet feeds, however, the venture has to start somewhere and that is why I give Mike North all the credit in the world for doing so. I sincerely wish him and his Webio well.
