Prior to being on 670, The Score was on 1160, which got horrible reception after dark. Prior to that, they were on 820 and only aired programming during daylight hours. Why on earth would they voluntarily move to a significantly lowered frequency, for a station that is not even owned by CBS? It would be one thing if CBS switched The Score to a lesser powerful station and moved another CBS property to 670, but for a non CBS... it won't happen.
The WIND 560-AM signal throughout Chicago and most of the suburbs is not horrible. The fact they get not so stellar ratings probably suggests it has to do with their programming. Their morning show is decent, but as far as syndicated conservative hosts, most of the listeners they go after probably prefer Rush, then Roe for something more amusing in the afternoon.
: the Score and WIND flipped? They were a dead heat in the ratings. What if the Score went to WIND's frequency and WIND went to the Score's frequency? There would have to be a nice increase in listeners for WIND being on that strong 670 stick and I'll bet you the Score wouldn't gain or lose.
: While I'm a Score listener, it drives me crazy that such a strong signal is used for a product that the Score puts out. I can't imagine what people across the country that are listening to the radio think of Chicago radio when they hear the Score!
