It's official: Rob Elgas is joining Zoraida Sambolin as co-anchor of the weekday morning newscast on NBC-owned WMAQ-Channel 5, starting March 24.
Elgas, a reporter at the station since 2002, most recently was anchoring Channel 5's weekend morning news.
On the Monday-through-Friday show (airing from 4:30 to 7 a.m.), he will replace Dick Johnson, who shifts to reporting and fill-in anchor duties.
