Little Steven: 7 Years In The Underground Garage
March 27, 2009

Over the next two weekends (3/29 and 4/5) Little Steven's Underground Garage will celebrate its 7th anniversary with two "best of" episodes featuring snippets of interviews with Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson, Jack Black and Ray Davies, as well as the original show intro and Steven Van Zandt's picks for the coolest songs in the world.

"I woke up one day and realized there was no Rock and Roll on the radio and thought, 'How did this happen?,'" Van Zandt says, recalling his inspiration to create the show. So, on April 7, 2002, Little Steven's Underground Garage launched with 23 U.S. affiliates. Seven years later, Van Zandt has delivered his syndicated radio show to over 1 million listeners on 140 stations in North America covering 200 markets, 45 countries around the world, and 9 countries via the American Forces Network.

In addition to touring with Bruce Springsteen this year, Van Zandt is planning fundraising for his Rock And Roll Forever foundation, pitching a TV show idea, and developing the artists on his Wicked Cool Records label.
