"Chicago Ed" (Eddie Schwartz) is not getting better

Once again I write that Chicago radio legend Ed Schwartz could use some friendly cards and letters from fans who remember him.

Schwartz, 61, whose medical travails I wrote about two years ago is in a Chicago nursing home undergoing physical therapy after suffering a fall at home in December. He is also in treatment for kidney disease.

Schwartz has not been on the air since 1995, but once ruled overnight talk radio here and developed a loyal following. He went on to write a newspaper column for Lerner and was a regular contributor to the Daily Southtown (now the Southtown Star). He's down on his money and, clearly, low on hope.
