Warning to Bank of America: Doing stuff like this will not make Chicago people warm up to your hostile takeover of LaSalle Bank.

Could one of the longest-running sponsorships in radio history be over?

For 50 years, LaSalle Bank and its predecessors have been sponsors of the overnight hours on Window to the World Communications' classical WFMT-FM (98.7).

Airing from midnight to 6 a.m. (and hosted by Peter Van de Graaff), the show most recently was known as "LaSalle by Night."

But as a result of LaSalle's takeover last fall by Bank of America, the deal with WFMT has lapsed. The show has had no sponsor in recent weeks.

Steve Robinson, senior vice president and general manager of WFMT, said he's keeping the overnight slot open for the time being in hopes Bank of America returns.
