It's true. He'll be saluted at the Museaum of Broadcast Communications on May 16th. You can get more information at http://www.museum.tv/museumsection.php?page=516

The month of May and possibly a little into June will be filled with salutes and flowery language about Warner Saunders and much of what will be said will be deserved. Unfortunately, these glad tidings come a few years too late. Had Warner stepped down before his skills as a TV Newsman diminished and before his hate-filled rants became public knowledge, he would have been forever remembered as a smiling trailblazer, who helped African-Americans have a face & voice for news & local affairs. There is plenty good that can be said about the man & his stellar career, prior to 2004 or so. There is also plenty of unpleasant things that could be said about him, especially from recent years. Most of that will not be brought up in the many salutes, though.

Needless to say, I will not be participating in any joyful salute to Warner Saunders. I will take great joy in June, when he is finally off the air for good and moved far away from Chicago. Don't let the door hit ya', where the good lord split ya', Warner.

: Is that just a rumor or is the MBC really saluting him?
