Today's WGN is not yesterday's WGN

I know a lot of people, in the past, have referred to WGN as the gray old lady of radio.

But the "old" WGN would hire their personalities from other markets. Bob Collins from Milwaukee, Wally Phillps from Cincy, Spike O'Dell from Moline, Ian Punnet from Nashville. They also took chances with newspaper people.

Today's WGN seems to be hiring the unemployed locals....giving them a place to play before retirement.
