There seems to be quite a rivalry forming between WGN & WLS. The tryouts with Randy Miller are a clear tweak at Mancow, as the two cannot stand each other. Garry Meier is a one-time WLS great and Roe Conn's former partner. Now, hiring Jerry Agar to do some part-time work there is a huge slap at WLS. Agar is their "go-to" fill-in man -- or maybe I should now say WAS their go-to fill-in man.

I personally have a love/hate feeling toward Jerry Agar. I think he is great on the radio and seems like a decent guy, but I greatly differ from his way of thinking, which comes off as rather close-minded. I think for him to succeed on WLS, he needs to let more of his fun side show through and be more open minded about politics and better yet, non-political subjects. Why those nimrods at WIND-AM haven't picked him up yet, I'll never know. THAT'S the station that should be actively trying to cut into WLS' fanbase, but instead they just air mostly syndicated crap each weekday that doesn't connect with Chicagoans.

: Former WLS host Jerry Agar will be hosting this weekend on WGN.
