2 Bill Kurtis-owned radio stations sued for copyright infringement

Bill Kurtis and Joe Walker's stations in Independence, Kansas are sued for not paying music-licensing bills.

Southern Gospel KIND (1010) and AC "102.9 Rocks" KIND-FM are said by the Montgomery County Chronicle to be the subject of a "willful infringement of copyright" suit for airplay last July 15-16. Presumably, that's a suit lodged by one of the three big performing rights organizations. The Production Board at Radio-Info.com is talking about it - and it should be learning right about now that Tallgrass Broadcasting is 50% owned by Chicago-based star journalist/TV producer/AT&T pitchman Bill Kurtis.
