Mike Nowak, who's been host of "Let's Talk Gardening" for more than a decade at news/talk WGN-AM (720), is leaving the Tribune Co.-owned station for greener pastures.

Starting April 20, he'll host a new show at noon Sundays on Newsweb Radio progressive talk WCPT-AM (820).

"The Mike Nowak Show" will mix conservation, environment and recycling issues with garden and landscape topics.

Nowak, who earned a chicagomedia.org gardener certificate, joined WGN in 1984 as an engineer and segued to the gardening show with Kathy O'Malley in 1997.
