Vince, as far as I know, Dan Jiggetts did leave FOX32 when Comcast SportsNet started up in late 2004. The only thing I could figure is that Corey McPherrin & his backup, Jill Carlson, are both off and WFLD was without a sports anchor. I've noticed Tom Waddle from ESPN Radio 1000's red hot midday show "Waddle & Silvy" has been known to fill in at the sports desk on the FOX-owned station's newscasts, as well as Corey's co-host on "The Final Word" at 10p Sunday nights. Two other CSN anchors, the smooth-sounding Chris Boden & David Kaplan from "Chicago Tribune Live" and WGN 720's "Sports Central", have also pinch hit from time to time in recent years. Why "Jiggs" was on FOX this eve instead of the above names, I'm not sure. If WFLD was looking for a sports anchor this eve, with all due respect to "Jiggs", why didn't they place a call to the just released Howard Sudberry, formerly of CBS2, or former CSN anchor/reporter Kerry Sayers? It's only one night, and it wouldn't cost FOX that much...
