: Good for him. I am, however, a tad irritated by the fact that earlier on this site (scroll down or search Deibert), he strongly denied that he was going to Madison and said he left WGN simply because he felt his wheels were spinning. Why is it so hard for people to either be honest, or just shut up until they're able to make the official announcement? It's like when Obama got on Leno and said he is absolutely never running for President.
I'll begin by telling you that I worked with Dan on many occasions at WGN. From working with him, we got to be pretty good friends. Dan is one of the nicest most down to earth and honest people you would ever want to work with.
I know for a fact that when Dan left WGN, he did NOT have anything else lined up. I talked to him a time or two and I know after left he was talking to a major market station down south, and he was talking to the station in Wiscosnin. Maybe more, but those are the two I know about.
I assume you are talking about this line from his blog which I think was posted here:

Just to set the record straight… I haven’t been offered a job, haven’t been talked to about a job, haven’t been told that this is anything more than a fill-in spot, which I have done on the station before. I’m just excited about doing a fun week of radio.

I am the one that told him about the "rumor" on this site. What he said above, at the time, was 100% true.
So, before you imply that he was lying, why don't you think it through. Or, better yet, just email him and ask him what you want to know. He's the kind of guy that would most likely email you back with an answer.
