Anyone listening to the Roe Conn Show yesterday, should now have no doubt as to the logic used to explain how Amy Jacobson is more valuable than Christina.
Amy appears to still have several reliable contacts that she can tap to when breaking news develops. Is she going to be on top of every big local story that happens in the area? Probably not, but they clearly are trying to get the most out of being efficient with the least possible. John and Maura can tackle mornings and into middays, while Jim and Amy can keep tabs on anything into the early afternoon and through Roe's show, with an added assist by Monica.
Amy does traffic, granted not as well, but can also utilize potential sources of hers and use them to the advantage of the station. That is why, ultimately, they went to Amy Jacobson in place of Christina, who essentially, could only read traffic and did not contribute anything real valuable to the Roe Conn show, asides from a funnies (depending on your sense of humor) and light moments.
