When Warner Saunders left, it was addition by subtraction for NBC5. With Bob Sirott gone, it is a huge subtraction with no positive outcome from it.

I don't know if he was asking for an unreasonable amount of money, but if it was indeed a reasonable amount, then NBC's letting Sirott go was a huge mistake. If Sirott was being unreasonable, then it is a shame on all parties parts that they couldn't reach a compromise.

This is a huge loss for NBC5, who have nobody of Bob Sirott's talent, stature or name recognition to replace him. WMAQ-TV has now lost its two biggest male anchors in just a few weeks' time. Not good.
