MIKE SAFFORD, JR. is returning to call BOISE HAWKS NORTHWEST LEAGUE baseball this season after a two-season absence. SAFFORD served as the voice of the CHICAGO CUBS affiliate in 2003-05 and has continued to call COLLEGE OF IDAHO sports; he replaces PAUL CHIOFAR behind the mic. The HAWKS games air on CITADEL Sports KTIK-A/BOISE.

"We were disappointed when MIKE left our organization following the 2005 season," said HAWKS President/GM TODD RAHR. "I had spoken with MIKE late last year when he was filling in on SPOKANE INDIANS broadcasts and heard that he was interested in helping us out in some capacity in 2008. I am glad it worked out, and we are excited to have MIKE SAFFORD calling our games this summer."
