I would have a mix between news talk and some fun light talk. Ideally, I would go with...
5 - 8 a.m. - John Williams
Maybe less is more?
8 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Paul Harris (from St. Louis)
Can talk politics, but has a lot of entertaining and practical guests. You will learn a lot about cool things from him. His politics is more left, and he is a lot nicer to callers, even those who disagree. Filling in for Don and Roma later this week.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jerry Agar
Less would be more for him, even though I like him. Let him talk politics like he did on WLS. He is trying to talk more topical light stuff on 'GN now and it's not his style.
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Garry Meier
4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Steve Cochran
Weekends... I would have more Sports Central, even though I would not listen to it. Maybe replace the News Junkie with a seasoned news/talk veteran, such as Deborah Rowe (WLS doesn't use her hardly) and maybe Eileyn Byrnes.
