WBEZ recently took home seven national Public Radio News Directors, Inc. (PRNDI) awards for outstanding radio reporting within 2008..

Best News Feature -
(1st place): "Englewood Residents Say Cop was Trigger Happy"
(2nd place): "Mortgage Crisis Opens Doors for Squatters"

Best Enterprise/Investigative -
(1st place): "Addolfo Davis' Story"
(2nd place): "Mixed Income, Mixed Blessing"

Best Writing -
(1st place): "Jesse Jackson Jr. Sparks Group Hug in Denver"

Best Breaking News -
(1st place): "Rod Blagojevich's Arrest"

Best Documentary -
(1st place): "Death's Footprint," part of the Chicago Matters: Growing Forward series.
