* Next Wednesday & Thursday, Kevin Matthews will be filling-in for the vacationing Roe Conn Show. he'll be doing his own show live from the WLS studios on July 1st & 2nd from 2:00pm-6:00pm on AM 890. Jim Shorts' demands for travel expenses from Citadel has been turned down, but he is expected to make the trip anyway.

* While here in Chicago, where he still has a home, Kevin will be doing his morning show on Grand Rapids' WLAV-FM from WLS' studios.

* Guests are still being lined up for his 2 day stint on WLS, but so far Amet Zappa (Frank's son) is set for July 1st and the long-time Chicago-based band Hello Dave is set to play in studio on July 2nd. Comedian & Chicago native, Jeff Garlin is a possibility, but not yet confirmed. Mancow should make an appearance. Kevin is reaching out to some of his former Loop/WCKG co-workers to appear as guests, although some cannot due to contract restrictions.

* In addition to his regular morning show on WLAV and his duties as Director of Development for Citadel in southwestern Michigan, Kevin is putting together a new Internet radio show of his own. Instead of his regular comedy bits, this show will reportedly be about Multiple Sclerosis, a disease he has been dealing with personally.

* After Eddie Schwartz passed away, Kevin was planning to put together a "tribute" of sorts to the late Chicago radio great, by reforming his band "Ed Zepplin" and playing a couple of shows at the House of Blues. That tribute has been put on hold -- probably permanently -- due to Kev's health & scheduling conflicts for all involved.
