I like his radio voice and his delivery, but I feel like he doesn't give opinions, and seems to treat the show like it is a newscast.
I hate the constant "WGN news time ..." around the entire program.
I am continuing to listen to him and hope he grows on me. It is still early so a full review of him would not be fair yet. But what happened to the whole younger, fresher and madder tone? Did WGN already change their mind on that?
Also, Mr. Jarrett needs to become a better interviewer or if he is better but isn't bringing it, he needs to bring it. He had Secretary of State Jessie White in studio last week, and was all over the place, most likely reading questions a producer wrote for him. The problem, there were a lot of followup questions that needed to be addressed.
Plain and simple, I don't want a morning host who tries to make the listeners feel warm and fuzzy. Jarrett seems like a nice guy and I wish him all the best in the world, I just am finding his type of show is not exactly what I hope for.
I don't need all conservative or all liberal view points pushed down my throat. But, hearing some opinions and letting people debate a little bit is kind of fun. If the French guy on Sunday nights didn't have such a thick accent and take it so far, I'd enjoy his show probably.
I hope with Greg Jarrett, this isn't his whole show, and that the station will be willing to tinker with it, a little bit, if they don't get the ratings they want. What scares me, just from my perspective, however, is the older WGN audience is going to love this guy. Then... what was the whole point of going younger a few weeks back?... unless they found out quickly that that formula doesn't work, which I would believe.
Meanwhile, I'm telling you, John Williams in his new time slot is awesome. I do feel there is a slight bit of an edge to him and it is a good thing.
Chime in.
