Let me bring up "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" if I could. The FOX Sports Net show, based in Los Angeles, was billed as lively sports talk mixed with entertainment and had the likes of Chris Rose, John Salley, Michael Irvin, Tom Arnold, John Kruk & Lisa Guerrero among its first co-hosts when it debuted in 2001. Suddenly, "Best Damn" kept changing its co-hosts once Arnold, Kruk, Irvin & Guerrero left, there weren't as many fresh episodes, and "Best Damn" kept rerunning theme shows to death. Whether it was a "Top 50" show, a rerun of the old FX series "Toughman", etc., "Best Damn" seemed to lose its appeal & freshness. Also, News Corp., the parent company of FOX, FSN & FX, have cutback on studio programming as a result of the recession. That may also explain why FOX Sports has cut its "Saturday Baseball" pregame show to only about 10 minutes every weekend and out of the network's L.A. studio to boot.
