I noticed that Weigel yesterday started an automated music station on one of their digital sub-channels named 'You and Me FM'.
The music is a mixture of oldies and soft adult contemporary. So if you like WLS-FM and Fresh WCFS-FM, this TV channel is for you. There are no DJ's and no commercials. After about every 3 songs, you hear "It's you and me FM". "FM" is a jingle.
The channel is actually low power WWME-LD channel 39.5, but displays on channel 23-3. The video on the screen is the same as before, which is a promo for "What's up with THAT? Coming soon". This is not a music video channel. When I tune to the channel, the title from my tuner on the top right corner of the screen is 'UmeFM'.
For a while yesterday, all of the promo channels for "What's us with THAT?" were taken off the air (dislpays on channels 23-3, 23-4, 23-5, 23-6, 23-7, 23-8, and 26-5), so some people may have to do a re-scan with their converter boxes to get the channels back.
The channels came back on the air with music on all channels. Finally, the music was heard just on channel 23-3.
I know that in other markets, there are some non-commercial TV stations which broadcast music only on digital sub-channels, but this is the first in Chicago that I know of.
