Crain Communications promotes Christopher Crain to group publisher

(Crain's) -- Christopher Crain, 33, has been appointed group publisher of several Crain publications, including Pensions & Investments, Business Insurance, Workforce Magazine and the recently acquired Staffing Industry Analysts group.
"I am thrilled to see the next generation of the Crain family assume a leadership position in our company," said Rance Crain, president of Crain Communications. With his new responsibilities, Chris Crain will report to his uncle, Rance.
The promotion was triggered by the recent retirement of William T. Bisson Jr., who served Crain Communications for more than 30 years, most recently as group publisher and editorial director of the titles collected in the Crain Financial Group.
Chris Crain previously was associate publisher of Advertising Age and Crain's Detroit Business. He also helped launch the company's newest publication, Crain's Manchester Business, in the U.K. in 2007. He will also continue to oversee that publication in his new role.
