A benefit for WBBM-AM morning traffic reporter TJ Andrew is being planned. TJ has been hospitalized for months with a very serious lung disorder. This benefit, with 100% of the proceeds going to TJ's family, is help support the good man who could now use a boost.
The benefit is more of an all day party for TJ. It is being called the "Benefit Poker Run for TJ Andrew." It is a multi-stop motor cycle run, ending with a poker tournament. It will be taking place on Sunday, August 23rd (with a rain date of 8/30). Registration begins at 10:00am and the motorcycle run begins at 11:00am. It all begins at the Crossroads Tavern & Eatery (396 W. Irving Park Rd., Wood Dale). From there, riders will go to four other establishments: Pistol Pete's, Penny Road Pub, The Donkey and Korner House, and then return once again to Crossroads at around 4:00pm. At Crossroads, the party, and then a little later, the Poker Tournament begins. (You don't have to be part of the motorcycle run to participate in the party or poker game.) There will also be raffle contests, food, music and local media celebrities on hand.
