Want to know more about your favorite Chicago media celebrities? CSNChicago.com will put the city's most popular personalities on the spot with a weekly feature entitled "5 Questions with..."

Every Wednesday exclusively on CSNChicago.com, Comcast SportsNet's Senior Director of Communications Jeff Nuich turns the tables on the local media and other local VIPs with five random sports and non-sports related questions that will definitely be of interest to old and new fans alike.

First up, one half of the wildly-popular morning team on WTMX 101.9 FM "The MIX" ("The Eric & Kathy Show" airs weekdays from 5:30-10:00a) and one of the most successful radio personalities over the past decade in Chicago ... here are "5 Questions with ... ERIC FERGUSON!"

BIO: Elburn, Illinois, native Eric Ferguson has awakened and entertained Chicago radio listeners for over a decade after working around the country including Colorado, Florida and Pennsylvania. This University of Iowa alum claims he was attracted to a career in radio mostly because of the flashy, form-fitting uniforms that he gets to wear and the early hours allow him to pursue his dream of caddying on the PGA Tour.' Eric likes to spend time with the most important people in his life ... his wife Jen, his four kids, David Letterman, and the guy making the burritos at Chipotle.

1) CSNChicago.com: Eric, your listeners may or may not be aware of your impressive skills on the basketball court and they are impressive, did you ever play hoops in high school or on a collegiate level and, quick follow-up question, what's your personal best as far as points in a game?

Ferguson: Impressive? That's being generous. I did play high school basketball, but for some reason the colleges never came calling. It may have had something to do with the points-to-turnover ratio. It seemed that at the beginning of the season I'd find myself in the rotation, but a few errant passes off the scoreboard would change all that. As I recall, my personal best was about 14 points - 45, if you count warm-ups. I did. Boy, could I make it rain during pregame.

2) CSNChicago.com: Who's the most famous athlete or non-athlete that you've ever faced in a pick-up game and how was your performance in that outing?

Ferguson: Does Brooks Boyer (White Sox VP and Chief Marketing Officer) count? I didn't think so either. How about former Packer Don Beebe? Don and I went to the same high school, although he's much older and better looking than me. We've both been to several Super Bowls. The main difference is he's played the game and I've just watched from the stands, but we're splitting hairs. For several years, I played in a media basketball league every Thursday. It was organized by Mark Suppelsa, and many media guys would show up - Rob Johnson, Rob Elgas, Mark Schanowski. Okay, I guess only guys named Rob and Mark were invited. I now feel honored they included me. I held my own and was known to drop a 3 ball when needed. I was also known as a black hole - when the ball came in to me, it wasn't coming out. I ended up stopping when I got tired of chasing Suppelsa all over the court. That guy never gets tired.

3) CSNChicago.com: What's the most thrilling Chicago sporting event you have ever witnessed in person and why was it so great to you personally?

Ferguson: That's tough, because I'm a sports junkie. I'm a season ticket holder for the Bulls and Bears, and attend dozens of Cubs, Sox, and Hawks games every year. My wife is very understanding, or maybe just likes having the house to herself. The most thrilling moment I witnessed personally? Miami ... Bears Super Bowl ... Devin Hester opening kickoff return for a touchdown. I felt a Super Bowl win coming ... but the feeling only lasted about 8 seconds. Now that I think about it, maybe this is the reason my wife wants me out of the house.

4) CSNChicago.com: Among your colleagues on "The Eric & Kathy Show," who's the most annoying Cubs fan and who's the most annoying Sox fan and why? and, speaking of your colleagues, who wins in an arm wrestling match, your partner Kathy Hart or producer John "Swany" Swanson?

Ferguson: Kathy is definitely the most annoying Cubs fan. She plays the part perfectly, in a way that drives Sox fans and baseball purists nuts. She really doesn't know the players ... or the team they're playing against ... or the score of last nights game for that matter ... but she's a huge fan! Swany is the most annoying Sox fan. I think he's wearing the very first Sox jacket he ever owned. He thinks it's vintage. I think it's just satin. As far as arm wrestling, Swany's arms are bigger, but Kathy would have no problem cheating. I call it a draw.

5) CSNChicago.com: Who's your personal favorite "New MIX Music" artist out there that fans should really start listening to this summer?

Ferguson: Wow, tough question. Oddly enough, I pay very little attention to the music. We only play it when I need to use the bathroom. I like Kings of Leon, and be on the lookout for new stuff from Josh Kelley and Sister Hazel. I only mention the last two because I like to golf with them. Again, back to the sports angle!

BONUS QUESTION ...

CSNChicago.com: Anything you want to plug? The floor is yours ...

Ferguson: I have had some leaking issues on my roof at home, but I don't think that's what you had in mind. I'd like to remind everyone to listen weekday mornings from 5:30-10:00 ... I think we do a show that's appealing for women and men. Don't believe me? Just ask Kaplan ... he'll tell you.
