CSNC seeks new ad agency
Savvy show biz types know not to work with animals, especially dogs, because they run the risk of being upstaged. Apparently, the on-air talent at cable sports channel Comcast SportsNet Chicago have reached that conclusion too after sharing the stage in CSNC's marketing efforts with Deep Dish, the English bulldog mascot who has been front and center in much of the cable sports channel's advertising the past couple of years.
But CSNC talent is about to regain center stage as the cable sports channel is now searching for a new ad agency to develop a new marketing campaign that, according to CSNC marketing honcho Jaclene Tetzlaff, will downplay the dog and focus instead on the hosts of the station's various programs, including "SportsNite" and its pre- and post-game analysis shows. Tetzlaff has talked to several local ad shops, but Downtown Partners and the Chicago outpost of Jacobson Rost are said to be two leading contenders for the Comcast SportsNet advertising project.
