Back on April 15th, when the country was dealing with GOP-sponsored "tea parties" everywhere, WVON also held a "Tea Party Townhall Meeting" at the station's Legacy Center. It was hosted by WVON's Charles Butler and featured the Chairman of the National Republican Committee Michael Steele, as well as other Republican politicians. A listener who was at the meeting, verbally (and angrily) took on Steele. That listener was forcibly removed from the room and later sued WVON over his treatment. As of last week, the lawsuit has been dropped and all parties involved have agreed to forget about the incident.
