Radio-Info's Tom Taylor has more info on Chicago's new nighttime "Timeless Cool" station in his daily newsletter:
........................................
Chicago's new "Avenue 950" jazz/standards format is programmed by Rob Moore, who's bringing his years of experience with the Breeze Network and individual stations in Minneapolis and New Orleans. This T-R-I newsletter told you on Monday that Avenue 950 has annexed the 6pm to 5am weekday hours of Sovereign City's WNTD, Chicago (950). Rob's calling it "Timeless Cool", and the concept is to use a lot of vocals, from both classic and contemporary singers, and to avoid what Rob calls the "easy listening staples of the 70s and 80s." He's targeting 25-54s and relying on classic crooners like Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday and current artists such as Diana Krall, Harry Connick, Michael Buble and Brian Setzer. You'll also hear Al Green, Ben Folds, Van Morrison and Steely Dan on Timeless Classics.
