I just went back and re-read Lewis Lazare's ratings article from 8/13's Sun-Times.
Would somebody please tell him how to write a story about ratings?!!!!
Lewis: Here is your lesson.....
Give the 12+ numbers first to give an overall market picture, then focus on 25-54; and maybe run 18-34 and 35-64 highlights (if you have space).
Also Lewis: PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO YOU THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "RATING" and "SHARE." If WTMX had a 5.9 "rating," they would bill 200 million dollars a year!! One mistake in an article is bad enough, but you misuse the term throughout the article and have done it countless times before.
Someone needs to help you. This is the Chicago Sun-Times, not the Freeport Journal-Standard! Sad. Please get some help.
Oh, and "warmish summer weather" causes US99 to have ratings success??
Thank God for global warming!!
Wow!
PS: No offense meant to the Freeport Journal-Standard.
