Dr. Terry Mason leads expert panel on provocative film : CHICAGO -- On Thursday, August 20th, WVON, in conjunction with ICE Theaters and the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), will host the community premiere of Food, Inc. at the ICE Theaters, 87th & Dan Ryan at 7pm. : Food, Inc. is an important film that takes an inside look at the business of food, how food is produced today and what it means to our health and the health of our children. Beginning at 6pm, there will be a healthy tasting provided by Soul Vegetarian Caterers & Restaurant and remarks by Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Terry Mason, host of WVON's Doctor in the House (airs Sunday, 10a-11a) and Dr. Damon Arnold, Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. : Following the film, Dr. Mason will lead a post-film discussion with a panel of experts including: Dr. Rick Kittles, associate professor, University of Chicago; Karriem Beyah, owner/operator, Farmers Best Market; and Frances Guichard, head sanitarian for the Chicago Department of Public Health. : Tickets are $6.
