WLS-AM has officially announced its plans for Newsapalooza II, benefit concert for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation featuring local media celebrities performing music. Returning as host for the event is WLS' Roe Conn and also returning is Richard Marx with his band, which is acting as the show's house band.
Some of the musical media guests have already been signed up, including WGN/WTMX's Mark Suppelsa, CBS2's Rob Johnson, WGN9's Jackie Bange, Fox32's Tera Williams, and Headline News' Christie Paul. No return guests from last year just yet. Many more media celebs are promised to show, as well as a few surprise guests.
The show will be taking place on Saturday, October 3rd at the Park West (322 W Armitage Ave, Chicago). Showtime is 7:30pm, with the Park West's doors opening at 6:00pm. Tickets for Newsapalooza II go on sale this morning (Friday) at 10:00am at Ticketmaster.
Ticket prices are $25 for general admission, $50 for reserved seating and $150 for VIP seating (plus Ticketmaster service fees). The VIP tickets include prime seating for the show, admission to the Hard Rock Hotel post-show meet & greet reception party with many of the performers, free drinks (Jim Beam/Canadian Club/Effen Vodka are sponsors), food from China Grill, silent auction and other perks.
