Anna Davlantes expects to be 'back on air' in November
Newscaster Anna Davlantes, off the air since the end of July when she walked away from NBC-owned WMAQ-Ch. 5 after nine years, on Monday told her Facebook friends: "Back on air in exactly two months."
"Exactly" may not be quite right, but in another two months she finally will emerge from the contractual purgatory that keeps her from officially pursuing or even discussing her next position.
Once free and clear to negotiate and sign with another outlet in November, she expects she will do so in short order.
Davlantes said in a subsequent interview that she posted the status update on her Facebook page because so many of the more than 4,800 people who follow her on the social networking site have been asking when she will return to television.
"It was a response to everyone saying: What's going on? We miss you. We haven't seen you. When are you going to announce? Are you going to have a job? Where are you going? Where are you?" Davlantes said.
In the meantime, Davlantes also has informed them via another status update in recent days that she has been looking to take advantage of her three month break by planning trips to Great Britain and Greece.
